FVR leads cast in Mango Tee Invitational

Former President Fidel V. Ramos will play in tandem with Bobby de Ocampo as they join a banner field of 256 teams seeing action in the 20th edition of the Mango Tee, the member-guest invitational tournament of the Alabang Country Club presented by Smart Communications on Feb. 5-8.

FVR and de Ocampo, the former Finance chief now president of the Asian Institute of Management, will be among the celebrity teams vying for a bonanza of prizes including four cars from Mitsubishi Motors Phils. and Citimotors.

Also in the full-packed registry are ACCI president Pablo de Borja, who’s playing with Philip Judan, ACCI chairman Gil Yuzon and partner Ariel Ong, Mango Tee committee chair Ed Lacson and his teammate Gerry Limlingan and a horde of corporate bigwigs and business magnates.

The defending member champion Ernest Villareal is bringing in a new partner Al Cusi for his title-retention bid in net play while OV Espiritu and Tommy Manotoc are coming back to defend the low gross crown they won last year.

"Everything is ready, we’re all set for the big event," said Lacson, noting that teams have been availing of their free practice rounds on weekdays ever since it was opened last Jan. 6 and will be allowed until Jan. 30.

All participants are eligible to win numerous merchandise and appliances during the raffle including the grand prize, a Mitsubishi Lancer, and can also join the cash bonanza where prizes worth P200,000 and up will be given away.

Mitsubishi Motors Philippines, Pilipinas Shell, Taylormade adidas, Citimotors and Allied Domecq/Carlos I are the major sponsors of the Mango Tee.
