Aussie enjoys huge lead in funboard tilt

-
Australian Robbie Radis proved to be unbeatable in the third and fourth rounds despite the best efforts of his opponents in the 16th Boracay International Funboard Cup.

Sporting a new Neil Pryde sail that caught winds of 14 to 18 knots, Radis blasted past rivals despite starting behind in a few heats.

Radis enjoys a whopping 8.97 advantage over closest rival Conrad Kerber of Guam in the overall rankings.

Philstar.com star athlete Nenette Graf, on the other hand, gained momentum at the fourth round to close the gap with Japanese sailor Ayako Suzuki who continues to top the ladies class.

Another Japanese, Yuko Nakazawa, is only two points away from Graf, landing her in third place.

In the juniors category, Taiwanese Hao Chang and David Cheng dislodged Filipino teenage sensation Lance Joson from the top spot after the third round.

Chang and Cheng claimed the first and second spots, respectively, in the juniors class.

In the masters division, George Gesner of the US widened his point gap with the Philippines’ Toto Cedullo while Switzerland’s Felix Guggenheim registered a score of 12.75 to land him in third place.

Only 4.75 points separated Gesner and Cedullo.

In the hotly contested junior masters class, Kerber is still in first place and has a 2.50 point gap over Korean Yong Keun Suh.

UK’s Paul Philips, despite an infected wound in his right foot, still managed to land third place with 10.75. It is his first time to compete in Boracay.

The 16th Boracay International Funboard Cup ends today. It is backed by Adecco, Fosters Beer, Neil Pryde, Lava Eyewear, the Department of Tourism, the local government of Malay, Aklan, and the Boracay Community.
