Yeo gives ICTSI big win over Viva

- Joey Villar -
ICTSI La Salle Archers finally pulled one over Far Eastern Tamaraws as thet turned back fancied Viva Mineral Water, 63-61, yesterday to move up to a share of third spot with Blustar Detergents in the PBL Platinum Cup at the Pasig Sports Center.

Joseph Yeo came to the Archers’ rescue again as he peppered the Water Force, the 2003 Unity Cup runners-up and made up of FEU Tams, with 14 points including seven in the fourth quarter that sealed a second straight victory against the same number of losses.

It was a sweet win for Franz Pumaren and the Archers as they avenged two harrowing losses to the Tams in the recent UAAP tournament.

Pumaren said it was poise and pure concentration that spelled the difference.

"We lacked poise and concentration in our first two games but we made it up this time by playing composed in this game," said Pumaren.

Jason Misolas and Dennis Miranda paced Viva with 14 and 12 markers, respectively, but the Water Force failed to control the boards, 37-49, as they fell to their third setback against a win.
