Canlubang Amateur golf slated Oct. 21-24

The fourth Canlubang Amateur Open Golf Championship will be played Oct. 21-24 at the north and south courses of the Cangolf complex in Laguna with the country’s top players expected to see action.

The event is open to all amateur players, men and women, of good standing in any golf club in the country with the premier men’s division slated for four days over the challenging par-72 south course layout.

Also on tap is the championship division for women, a three-day, 54-hole stroke-play tournament set Oct. 21-23 for the country’s top lady golfers.

The organizing Cangolf also announced that there would be a competition for division II for men, a two-day, 36-hole stroke play tournament slated Oct. 23-24 with the top three placers set to receive awards.

A handicap competition for men and women will also be held in the last two days of the tournament with the gross, net, first and second runners-up honors staked in classes in A, B, C and D on tap.

Deadline for registration is on Oct. 17. Entry fee is pegged at P2,000, inclusive of green fee, one free practice round, giveaways, and a raffle ticket.
