PBA chief chides Lina on Fil-shams

PBA board chairman Jun Cabalan yesterday reminded FedEx team owner Bert Linas of a certain rule of the board while taking exception to the statement the latter made regarding "Fil-shams" during the PSA Sports Forum Tuesday.
"The statements are totally uncalled for. As an active bonafide member of the PBA board, Mr. Lina should have known that the problems besetting the league today, most specially the Fil-Am subject, have been and are being thoroughly discussed and acted upon by the entire board together with the league commissioner," said Cabalan.
"Mr. Lina, in fact was present when the measures were adopted to address the matter. What prompted Lina to issue such statements at the PSA forum remains a mystery," Cabalan added.
Lina said the Fil-sham problem was the main reason for the sharp decline in attendance in the PBA .
"People feel cheated because of the Fil-sham thing. Maraming galit na tao kaya bagsak ang attendance," Lina was quoted as saying. Nelson Beltran
