The Philippine ladies team wound up third behind England and the United States in the womens medal standings with a gold, silver and bronze-medal feat at the close of the 15th World Tenpin Bowling Championships in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Liza Clutario emerged as the most bemedalled Filipina with three a bronze in the all-events and a silver in the masters while teaming up with Liza del Rosario and Cecilia Yap in powering the Philippines to a gold medal finish in the ladies trios.
England dominated the field with a three-gold, one-silver haul, while the US finished with a one gold, two-silver and one-bronze medal finish.
It was a rousing campaign for the Filipina bowlers as they more than made up for the lackluster showing of the mens team in the event which gathered the best and the brightest players in the world.
