Actor-sportsman Richard Gomez proved he could be as reliable in marksmanship as he is in basketball, golf, rowing or fencing as he helped power the Philippines to a silver medal finish in the just-concluded Singapore shooting competitions.
The 37-year-old Gomez, a former member of the national fencing team, teamed up with Joey Valdez to steer the Philippines to a runner-up finish in the trap shooting category of the annual competitions held Sunday and Monday. Valdez went on to win another silver medal in the individual category.
The duo, along with Gomezs wife Lucy and daughter Ma. Juliana Beatriz, arrived yesterday via PAL flight PR 502 at the NAIA Terminal 2.
Gomez thanked the Philippine Airlines for sponsoring their teams trip to the Singapore shootfest.
"Malaking bahagi ang PAL at nagpapasalamat kami," Gomez said.
