Agojo collects another gold

-
Jayvie Agojo added a San Francisco junior championship title to the growing collection of victories by Filipino jungolfers in the United States, recently by winning the girls 15-17 years division crown in runaway fashion.

The 16-year-old Agojo fired rounds of one-over-par 73 and two-under 70 for a 143 total at the Lincoln Golf Club–the same course where Fil-Am Dorothy Delasin honed her skills as an amateur before becoming an LPGA star–in South San Francisco.

Geleen Handog placed fourth in the 12-14 years category but not after blowing her bid with a triple-bogey seven on the final hole. Handog had a 71-83-154.

Fil-American youngsters including the younger sister of Delasin, Dodesa, were among those who competed in the tourney.

The victory of Agojo, a senior at OB Montessori-Greenhills, was her second in the US after winning in the Temecula International championships two weeks ago. It also came on the heels of a big triple victory feat by Filipino jungolfers in the Desert Junior Classic in Palm Springs, California.

Agojo flies to Florida for the Optimist International, the final stop of her US campaign, on Sunday.
