The Red Ribbon Football Festivals National Capital Region leg, a Philippine Football Federation- sanctioned under-14 football tournament, blasts off Sunday at the Ateneo de Manila College football fields in Quezon City.
A minimum of 15 teams will be seeing action on the opening date, and on succeeding Sundays in different venues to culminate in September.
School teams such as Ateneo, La Salle Green Hills, La Salle Zobel, Xavier, San Agustin, Southridge, and the Don Bosco schools are favored to lead the fight for the NCR championship.
Red Ribbon Foods Corp. recently embarked on its social responsibility campaign to contribute to national sports development for the youth.
The age-group of the kids in the tournament fits right into their marketing campaign of espousing family celebrations.
The opening festivities will be a whole-day family affair, with booths selling food and refreshments for the kids and their families.
Red Ribbon Bakeshop officers promise it to be a fun-filled family celebration through the sport of football.
The tournament was participated in by 28 provinces nationwide, of which all have completed their games except for Pampanga, Bulacan and NCR. <
