Jose "Amang" Parica defeated Dick Lane, 13-8, in the final round to rule the Great Seminole Senior Open held at the Naples Beach Hotel in Naples, Florida over the weekend.
Both players actually remained undefeated until Sunday when Parica finally dealt Lane his first loss. But the American bounced back from losers side of the race-to-11 double round elimination to defeat Erman Bullard and set up the rematch with the Filipino ace in the finals.
The 54-year-old Parica waylaid Danny Medina, Ricky Bingham and Wade Crane on his way to the championship of the $40,000 event for players aged 50 years old and above.
It was Paricas second victory in the US this year. He also ruled the Derby City Classic One Pocket Division and placed second twice in the Derby City Classic Overall Bonus and Joss NE 9-ball Tour Stop 20 and wound up third in the Brunswick Pro Players Championship and the US Bar Table Championships 9-ball.
