MayniLA five streaks to 5th straight win

MayniLA crushed the Pampanga Bulls, 97-80, Thursday night at the Lyceum of the Philippines gym to post its fifth straight victory in the National Basketball League (NBL) national championship.
Ralph Rivera and Ernani Epondulan combined for 41 points to spark the lopsided triumph of MayniLA, which is backed by businessman Alberto Lina and the Atienza brothers, Councilor Kim and Manila Sports Council chair Ali.
Forward Taguig relied on a strong finishing kick to beat Spring Cooking Oil, 95-88, in the opener.
Taguig leveled its record at 2-2 while Spring suffered its seventh straight loss in the tourney supported by Tanduay Rhum, Air Philippines, Cebu Ferries, Natures Spring Drinking Water, Supercat, Panasonic, Gatorade, Sinners and Saints, The Freeman, Jaguar KTV and Molten Basketballs.
NBL action continues at the CEU gym in Malolos, Bulacan today with MayniLA seeking its sixth win against Taguig at 4 p.m. and Spring and Air Philippines-Bacolod clashing at 6.
