Artists-golfers vie in PHA golf tourney

Top caliber artists-golfers in the music field are participating in two Philippine Heart Association (PHA) events, a fellowship golf tournament, the PHA President’s Cup and a special concert entitled "Straight from the Heart."

The tournament will be held tomorrow at the Valley Golf and Country Club, while the concert will be on May 29, 8:30 p.m. at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel Ballroom. Both events mark the end of the 50th anniversary observance and start of the 34th annual convention of the PHA, the premier medical association of all cardiologists of the country.

Many of the artists billed to participate in the concert are also accomplished golfers such as: Al Quinn, Danny Javier and Boboy Garrovillo of APO Hiking Society, Bert Nievera, John Lesaca, Leah Navarro, Hajji Alejandro and Richard Merk.

Dr. Ramoncito Tria, convention sports committee chair, said participation of the entertainers will liven up the event.
