Asean Timber, ABC Phils rule 3-man team events

Asean Timber bested Apo Vinyl and Boysen Paints to top Group 1 while ABC Philippines reigned supreme in Group 2 in the all-events 3-man team tournament at the Green Valley Bowling Center in Pasig City last week.

Dante Manglicmot, Lito Zubiri and Tony Sabater pooled 2252 pinfalls for Asean Timber which beat the Apo Vinyl troika of Ega Reformado, Lou Antonio and Ric Lizarondo (2218) and the Boysen Paints team of Jun Cheng, Jerry Canuday and Abe Firmeza (2149).

Boyet Libiran, Darius Sadioa and Raul Torres, on the other hand, teamed up to score 1980 pinfalls and give ABC Philippines the championship in Group 2 of the event sponsored by Boysen and Nation Paints.

The Nation Paints team of Ric Poblete, Kelly Esmaquel and Jeffrey Cham rolled 1940 to place second while the Koten Enterprises squad of Cesar Regala, Leo Sirilan and Greg Mare settled for third with 1849.

Meanwhile, action in the event, backed by American Standards, Emerald Pipes, Philflex Wires and Cables, Crown Asia, Asean Timber, Jackbilt Industries, Farisha Industrial Sales and Services, ABC Philippines, www.arkispecs.com, Samitrade, Inc., Apo Vinyl, DN Steel, HCG, Pateco and Koten Enterprises, resumes at 7 tonight with the staging of the "beat your average—one group tournament.<
