Crucial tiffs up for ICTSI, LBC

ICTSI and LBC-Batangas put their bid for the last semifinal berth on the line when they battle separate rivals today in the stepladder phase of the Sunkist-PBL 2003 Unity Cup at the Pasig Sports Center.

ICTSI clashes with Nutri-licious at 2 p.m. while LBC-Batangas is expected tough fight against Welcoat Paints in the 4 p.m. encounter.

The ICTSI versus Nutri-licious duel will be telecast over Solar Sports at 6 p.m. while the battle between LBC-Batangas and Welcoat will be aired over the National Broadcasting Network at 10 p.m.

Though both the ICTSI Archers and the Batangas Blades are favored having won over their rivals in the classification round, stakes are still high since both Nutri-licious and Welcoat are hoping to forge a three-way tie in their respective pool to stay in contention for the next round.

The ICTSI Archers prevailed over the Juicers, 64-53, last April 27 at the West Negros College Gym in Bacolod while the Batangas Blades nipped the Paint Masters, 57-54, last April 13 at the San Juan Gym.
