PBL holds exhibition game in Isabela

The Philippine Basketball League commemorates its founding day with an exhibition game dubbed the "2003 PBL Rising Stars North-South Game" today at the Josefina Albano Sports Coliseum in Cabagan, Isabela.

The affair highlights the 20th anniversary celebration of the PBL, then known Philippine Amateur Basketball League founded in 1983 with former Ambassador Eduardo "Danding" Cojuangco as chairman.

The Rising Stars North-South Exhibition Match will be aired over Solar Sports on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m.

This also marks the first time the league will hold an out-of-town match up north coinciding with the celebration of Isabela Day through the support of Air Philippines, Isabela Governor Jun Dy, organizing committee chairman Sec. Bebot Bello and Cong. Rudito Albano of Cabagan, Isabela.

"The PBL saw many great talents from this region and we hope that this Rising Stars Exhibition Match will inspire more of the youth from the Ilocos Region to get involve in sports and realized their basketball dreams," said PBL commissioner Chino Trinidad.

Meanwhile, Nutri-licious nipped Blu Star, 63-61, in the Sunkist-PBL Unity Cup at the San Juan gym. The match between John-O and Viva Mineral Water was reset due to power failure.
