Record roster expected in three-in-one Belle Cup golfest

-
The 2003 Belle Cup golf championship, a unique three-in-one, two-man team tournament featuring members of the Tagaytay Highlands International Golf Club, Inc. and Tagaytay Midlands Golf Club and their spouses, dependents or guests, will be staged May 9-10 with a record field expected to vie for top honors at the quaint Highlands and Midlands courses.

Now on its fourth year, the event is touted as the club’s biggest annual golfing event in terms of participation. It is a combination of three tournaments — the Highlands Cup, the Midlands Cup and the Belle Cup, which is the culmination of the first two events.

Organizers of the event said the tournament will be open only to the first 125 teams with the field to be divided into two groups. The first group will play at the Highlands and the other at the Midlands on May 9 with both groups switching courses in the second day of play.

Belle Corp., developer of Tagaytay Highlands and Midlands Golf Club, is chaired by Benito Tan Guat. The vice chairmen are Willy Ocier and Hans Sy while the current club president and general manager are Jerry Tiu and Nick Celdran, respectively. Loy Bernardino is the golf director.

Registration is now ongoing with fees pegged at P6,500 per team of two players for two days. For teams playing only for one day, fees are set at P3,500. For details, please contact (046) 413-2639.
