The University Reality Combat Championship 2 "Night of the Champions" was successfully staged last April 12 at the Philippine Sports Center, formerly ULTRA, in Pasig City featuring several exciting bouts.
Charging up the events second edition was the highlight fight between Brazilian Tony Torres and Jacao Bispo, who fought gallantly before settling for a draw.
The non-stop action, which lasted three and a half hours, featured 10 previously unbeaten fighters from the first staging Manuel "Cobra" Silvano (Muay Thai), Allan Co (Hybrid Yaw Yan), Richard Lasprillas (Deftac Jiujitsu), Glenn Sumanoy (Deftac Dumaguete), Larry "Pinoy" Montejo (pro-boxing) and Emerson Mateo (Tracma).
In the opening bout, Charlie Angel knocked the wind out Zaldy Intrigo in the second round with a solid one-two punch to the chin that sent the latter sprawling on the floor, barely conscious.
The second match was a classic example how height is not always might as a lean but mean Sumanoy slammed down a bigger Mateo for a swift first round win.
Orlando Dulays win over Silvano showed why Jiujitsu is better than Muay Thai with a classic display of holds, locks and take downs typical of a jiujitsu artist.
Behemoth TJ Tiu unleashed a flurry of punishing blows to force Belgian Nico Dahainen to submission with a first round triumph.
URCC first timers Fritz Rodriguez of Deftac and Raffy Garcia downed their respective opponents in their impressive debut.
Presented by Solar Entertainment, Colt 45 and the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office in cooperation with Alaxan, Casio-g-shock and Varig Airlines, the event was organized by Alvin Alguilar, Franz Von Muhlfeld and Jed Dario.
