Shell, Carmona host karting prix

As part of their continuing efforts to promote karting, Pilipinas Shell and Carmona Circuit Phils. will again host the biggest karting competition in the country beginning tomorrow at the Carmona Racing Circuit in Carmona, Cavite.
Dubbed as "Shell Super Karting series," the nine-part series is expected to be participated in by the countrys top karters from all over the country.
Defending champion Pepon Marave, newly-crowned CIK-FIA Asia Zone intercontinental A champion Dado Pena and junior intercon titlist Michelle Bumgarner head the list of participants vying in the event backed by Kilton Motors, Nokia, Bridgestone and Denso.
Marave bagged the overall title and the prestigious "Karter of the Year" award in Carmona last year, beating perennial contenders Allan Uy, Mike Tuason and Jess Garcia.
Pena emerged as the overall champion in the intercon class, while Bumgarner ruled the junior intercon category in the 2002-2003 CIK-FIA Asia Zone Championships which ended in Sentul, Indonesia last month.
