Camacho, Cruz, Tolentino share Liberica honors

-
LIPA CITY — Ricky Camacho and August Cruz — plus Modesto Tolentino — came up with sterling performances last Sunday to share the spotlight in the fourth Mount Malarayat Liberica Golf Invitational.

For winning the overall team title, highlighted by Cruz’s hole in one on No. 8 of the Makulot course, he and Camacho drove back home with the champions’ trophies.

But Tolentino, Emil Alviar’s guest partner, was also a big major winner. He scored an ace on the second hole of the Malipunyo course to win a Toyota Corolla Altis 1.6E A/T.

Cruz made his ace on a non-designated hole so he just won P15,000 and a bottle of Torres Jaime Primero.

The other big winners were Reggie Nunag and partner Antonio de la Cruz who came up overall individual winners and also captured handsome trophies.

Aside from Malipunyo and Makulot, the 36-hole event was also played at the Lobo course in Mount Malarayat’s major tournament for its members and guests.

Active Group of Companies and Smart Communications were the major sponsors of the annual event Mount Malarayat chairman Tony Turalba named in honor of Batangas’ favorite barako coffee.

Other backers were Malarayat Organizing Committee, Pacsports Phils. Inc., Asian Spirit, YKK Zipper Phils. Inc., Toyota Batangas Inc., The Turf Company, Prudential & Assurance Inc., Excel Contractors & Developers Inc.<
