Samsung Tour final gets underway at Midlands

Twenty-four survivors of the national eliminations clash to decide whos the best in the finals of the Samsung Amateur Tour golf championship, the culmination of the highly-successful Samsung DigitAll Challenge, today and tomorrow at the Tagaytay Midlands course.
Gene Bondoc and many-time national player Carmelette Villaroman head the cast of finalists in the event capping a four-leg Tour around the countrys most exclusive and toughest courses.
Bondoc is up against dangerous rivals like Jong Laput, Jovi Neri and Oliver Gan in his fight for the mens championship trophy while a showdown between Villaroman and the much-improved Lucy Landicho looms in the distaff side which also features young Remijin Camping and Ia Bakunawa.
Organized by Samsung as part of its thrust for sports development, the Tour is also backed by Fila, Hotshots Flame-Grilled Burgers, Custom Club, Fernandina Suites, Taylor Made adidas, Greg Norman by Planet Sports and Gatorade. Rogin-E Vitamins and Casino Filipino-Tagaytay are providing additional support with Wave 89.1, City Lite 88.3, 103.5 K-Lite, Magic 89.9, KillerBee and 99.5 RT serving as radio partners.
Class A entries are Fujio Goto, George Hong, Katy Katigbak, Pitong Quiocho, the Class B field counts Jose Nepomuceno, Boy Alegre, Tony dela Cruz, Boysie Arguelles Tricia Maclang, Mercy Bejar, Arlette Dizon, Janese Carr and the Class C battle features Jose Mendoza, Bernyl Balangauan, Lerni Segaya and Alfredo Abarintos.
Boy Blue Ocampo of the organizing Professional Sports Management Group(PSMG) said that the finalists coming from the qualifying legs in Eagle Ridge, Cebu, Mt. Malarayat and Tagaytay Midlands are all bracing for two tough days at Midla
