Salud, Aldeguer agree to back Gorres campaign

Rudy Salud and Tony Aldeguer recently forged a partnership to make a world champion out of unbeaten flyweight Z Gorres, whose exploits will be shown by In This Corner from 1-2 p.m. today on Channel 9.
The two boxing patrons had agreed to support Gorres bid for a crack at a world title, owing to the fighters impressive record, including his recent interim Philippine flyweight title match against fellow Cebuano Roy "Macho" Balataria, which will be the knockout offering in the weekly show backed by San Miguel Beer.
The Gorres-Balataria encounter took place underneath the Manny Pacquiao headliner at the Luneta with avid fight fans talking about Gorress craftsmanship and show of force as much as Pacquiaos up-from-the-floor knockout victory over Kazakh Serikzhan Yeshmagambetov.
Salud saw Gorres for the first time when he was invited by Aldeguer to be at ringside in a January card in Cebu to size up the prospect.
The founding secretary general of the World Boxing Council, Salud is so impressed by the veteran of over 100 amateur fights that he is close to finishing the blueprint for Gorress ascension to the world title.
With Aldeguer and master tactician Ala Villamor backing up his every move, expect Gorres to make more noise in the months to come.
