Ranking, quarterly dancefest up in Cebu tomorrow

Everything is set for the blue-ribbon fourth quarterly ranking and national competitions of the Dance Sport Council of the Philippines starting at 1 p.m. tomorrow at the Waterfront Hotel in Lahug, Cebu City.

Held in cooperation with Mayor Tommy Osmeña, DSCP president Becky Garcia said International Dancesport Federation (IDSF) Italian Latin champions Ricardo Cocchi and Joanna Wilkinson have been invited to do a five-Latin dance demo to highlight the occasion. Also invited to adjudicate are Lawrence Chan and Walter Luk from Hong Kong and Sylvia Loo from Singapore.

This year’s season-opening dancefest will be sponsored by the Philippine Sports Commission, Philippine Olympic Committee, Philippine Airlines, Waterfront Hotel, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, Doctor Trusted Alaxan, Pagcor, ABC 5, Savannah Moon and the city of Cebu.

Assisting Ms. Garcia are the other DSCP officers, namely lawyer Noel Laman, chair; Jun Herrera, vice president; lawyer Jo Saliva, secretary general; Gloria Alcala, treasurer; and board directors lawyer Andy Fornier, Marvie Cojuangco Yulo, Prof. Naomi Enriquez, Edward Hayco, Tonet Lagdameo, Gen. Sonny Yan, Ruby Co, Emma Nieto, Chona Mercado and Joel Ocsena.
