Jenny sputters, settles for joint 16th in Aussie Ladies Masters

-
GOLD COAST, Australia — PGA Tour campaigner Jennifer Rosales of the Philippines failed to sustain her charge as she settled with an even par 72 to finish joint 16th in the rain-shortened $475,000 Australian Ladies Masters won by Laura Davies of England.

Rosales, who started the round just four shots adrift of Karrie Webb after firing a 68 Saturday, had a 54-hole total of 210, seven strokes behind Davies who shot a four-under par 68 to beat Rebecca Stevenson of Australia by one at the East Course at Royal Pines here. Stevenson finished the event with three 68s and finished second with 204 in a tie with Karrie Webb, the erstwhile leader who fumbled with a 70.

The tournament, which served as a tune-up for the LPGA Tour set to fire off March 13 with the Welch’s/Fry’s Championship in Tucson, Arizona, was reduced to 54 holes due to rains.

Mexico’s Lorena Ochoa also shot a 68 to place fourth at 205 followed by Iben Tinning of Denmark (66-206), Rachel Teske of Australia (67-206), and Gina Scott of New Zealand (64-207) in that order.
