LSGH quintet earns ticket to Las Vegas

-
The La Salle Green Hills SBP team, champion of the recently concluded Small Basketeers of the Philippines National Finals, brings championship tradition to the international arena as it represents the country in the Las Vegas Classics US Open Basketball Tournament this April in Nevada, USA.

The LSGH squad composed of boys aged 12 years and below, boasts of an unblemished record from the elimination round of the SBP tournament all the way to the NCR finals, beating defending champion Ateneo de Manila University.

In the national finals, LSGH continued its winning streak over teams from Sta. Maria Catholic School of Iloilo, St. John School of Pangasinan, and eventually prevailing over Ateneo de Davao to conquer the national title.

The LSGH SBP team, which will represent the RP BEST Center in the Las Vegas joust, is composed of Abby Cantos, Bernard Lopez, Anton Reyes, Vince Fran, Marco Yulo, Mathew Sia, Mark Alivia, Roel Zacarias, Jed Villanueva, Eduardo Aytona, Jr., Mico Sollano, Benedict Lopez, Kieffer Ravena, and Paolo Darroca. Coaches are Hubert de los Santos and Ricky Magallanes.

"Blessed with sheer skill, talent, speed and height, but made unbeatable by their solid teamwork, this very youthful team has transformed into a formidable squad capable of winning, with no limit to what they can achieve," said LSGH president Bro. Bernie Oca.

And with the potential of these young boys, La Salle Greenhills, under Oca together with the Alumni Association, have been gathering support for the team’s Las Vegas sojourn and are calling on all La Sallians.
