Dagupan sweeps RGFFP team, individual awards

The Rotary Club of Dagupan-East, riding the big games of Jesus Romero and Albert Balingit, upstaged the home teams in sweeping both the top team and individual awards in the 17th edition of the Rotary Golfing Fellowship Foundation of the Philippines (RGFFP) golf tournament recently at the Camp John Hay and Baguio Country Club courses in Baguio City.
Romero and Balingit each fired 84 points for two days, carrying the scoring load for the Dagupan-East Rotarians who finished six points clear of Baguio North 2 with a 318 aggregate.
Joining Romero and Balingit in the big romp were Eric Acuna, Reuben Balinao and Francis Macalino. Romero took the overall individual title after beating Balingit in the countback.
Major sponsors for the event were Taylor Made, Casino Filipino/Pagcor, Smart Communications. Minor sponsors are Fedex, Zuellig Insurance, Zeta Mark/Calvin Klein, Ortigas&Co., Menzi, PLDT, Storck, General Nutrition Center, Lebuilder, Brewyard Café and RGFFP chair Melito Salazar.
Baguio North-2 settled for the Presidents division trophy with Baguio South (Founders), Baguio North-1 (Governors) and Bagumbayan 3 (Fellowship) clinching the other categories.
Balingit won a third Pewter trophy for his team as Flight C individual champion. The other winners were Bong Mandapat of Baguio South (low gross), Jiggy Garcia of Kamuning 1 (Flight B) and Benjie Favis of Baguio in the guest division.
