Will Enrico Villanueva play for Dazz Dishwashing Liquid?
Dazz team manager Bernard Yang bared yesterday that the 66 Ateneo slotman has sent feelers that hes willing to help the Greasebusters in their bid to claim the No. 2 spot in the ongoing PBL Challenge Cup.
"Its true, Enrico Villanueva hopes he could play for us upon his return from the US today or tomorrow. He said he wants to help the team get into the championship," Yang disclosed.
"We still have to see. Coach Junel Baculi wants to see first if hes fit to play after the long vacation. If he is, he might see action on Saturday when we play LBC-Batangas in Lipa City," he added.
The addition of Villanueva will make Dazz Dishwashing Paste probably the second tallest team after Welcoat since 64 former MBA MVP John Ferriols is ready to see action on Saturday.
The Greasebusters must hurdle their last three assignments to claim the No. 2 spot and enjoy the twice-to-beat incentive in the crossover semifinals.
And with Villanueva and Ferriols playing alongside the core of Allan Salangsang, Eugene Tan, Cyrus Baguio, Nino Gelig and Peter June Simon, the Greasebusters have better chances of avenging their 53-56 setback to the Batangas Blades last Dec. 5.
"Our realistic goal is to get the No. 3 spot, pero mas maganda kung makuha namin ang No. 2. Sana, the long break will work to our favor," said Dazz coach Junel Baculi.
Meanwhile, PBL fans can get log in their reactions and comments at the new PBL website - www.mypbl.com where highlights of the successful PBL Showcase are currently featured.
