December 20, 2002 | 12:00am
The Eagle Ridge Golf and Country Club will hold its year-end tournament for members tomorrow with the monthly champions leading a cast of about 150 players vying for honors.
Tee-off is shotgun style at 8 a.m. at the Aoki course of the countrys biggest golf complex which to date has 63 holes playable with the last nine set to be ready for play early next year.
There will be three divisions to be disputed, Class A, Class B and Class C, with trophies and special prizes to be given to the winners. Members will be pre-classified according to their handicap index.
Winifred Gob, project director of Eagle, also announced that the awarding ceremony will also serve as the annual Christmas party of the Eagle Ridge membership.
"Weve had a good year especially with the introduction of our monthly tournaments. We hope to get the same support from the membership when we line up our activities for 2003 which is, of course, focused on the opening of the final nine holes of the club," said Gob.
Gob also said that the tourney will also give them the chance to discuss with members some plans for the coming year.
Eagle Ridge should easily come out as one of the local courses with the most golf rounds for the whole 2002 and it is playing a crucial role in the promotion of golf tourism heading to next years Visit Philippines project.
