Top karters hope to beef up title chances as the 2002 Shell Karting Super Series stages its eighth and penultimate leg next weekend at the Carmona Circuit Philippines.
Former Jet Ski Rider of the Year Jan Jan Gonzales, who drew raves from the hometown Cebu crowd in the last leg, is eyeing a back-to-back win to strengthen chances for the Formula SL Light crown in this event sponsored by Pilipinas Shell, WG&A Super Ferry, Bridgestone, Nokia, Zip-zip, ZED and Philippines Charity Sweepstakes Office through chairman Livia "Honeygirl" de Leon and general manager Angelo Ver.
But Indy Villalon remains a big threat in the series sanctioned by the Automobile Association of the Philippines (AAP) while other title contenders Kendrick Sy and Tuason Racing-Team Oxygens PJ Religioso are also aiming to pull surprises to stay in contention.
