Batangas eyes solo lead vs Blu

-
Newcomer LBC-Batangas Blades gun for solo leadership as they test their strength against Blu All Purpose today in the 2002 PBL Challenge Cup at the Pasig Sports Center.

Batangas Blades coach Nash Racela wants to prove that their 84-77 triumph over Montana Pawnshop was no fluke as they hope to show the same intensity against the Detergent Kings in the 2 p.m. opener.

Two talent-laden teams–Montana and John-O–try to bounce back from their opening-day setback when they clash against each other in the main encounter at 4 p.m.

"That opening day win was a big morale booster for the boys. We may be the shortest, the youngest and the most inexperienced team here but we could turn them around. That’s what exactly happened on our debut, the boys proved to themselves that nothing is impossible as long as we work hard and believe in ourselves," said Racela.

Alex Compton will again try to lead LBC-Batangas Blades to another win together with veterans Jason Cuevas, Froilan Baguion, Mico Roldan and Ralph Rivera along with promising new faces Al Magpayo, Ronald Allan Capati, Harold Sta. Cruz and Paul Reguera.
