Even though cycling is not expected to deliver the goods in the ongoing 14th Asian Games, Airfreight 2100-Federal Express has still lent its unwavering support to the national team competing in Busan.
"Our riders have not figured in the medal race, but in time we know that we will be able to compete gamely against the best of Asia, if not the rest of the world," said Airfreight 2100, Inc. chair Bert Lina.
Airfreight 2100, Inc., licensee of Federal Express in the Philippines, handed out cycling apparel and $500 to the national riders before the cyclists embarked on their Asian Games sojourn.
Lina, the new godfather of Philippine cycling, breathed life this year to the fabled cycling tour, which was shelved for three years.
After the event soared back into orbit last summer with a four-day tour at the Calabarzon growth area, the Air 21 Express Tour Pilipinas will embark on a 14-stage cycling escapade in April next year.
