In the curtain-raiser, De La Salle-Araneta University and host Central Colleges of the Philippines try to barge into the win-column in their 9 a.m. encounter followed by the St. Jude College and De Ocampo Memorial College clash at 10:30.
Afternoon matches pit TIP against four-time champion Manuel L. Quezon University at 12 p.m., Philippine Maritime Institute against Philippine College of Criminology at 1:30 p.m., and Metro Manila College against debuting PATTS School of Aeronautics at 3 p.m.
Aside from UA-P and Trinity, the other opening day winners are St. Jude, PMI, MLQU and idle Las Piñas College.
