The Manila Sports Council (MASCO) athletes get a needed boost as the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) gives the organization part of the proceeds in the advance screening of "Triple X" (xXx) on Aug. 19 at the Robinsons Place Cinema 1 in Manila.
Manila Sports Council head Arnold "Ali" Atienza promised to be present at the screening, which is expected to draw not only sports officials, athletes and celebrities but also average movie lovers who may want to be among the first to see the Vin Diesel-Samuel Jackson spy starrer by Columbia Pictures.
"We are really looking forward to the PSA film showing. It is an honor for us to be a part of this undertaking as it will definitely boosts our grassroots development program," said the young Atienza, former Asian taekwondo champion and son of Manila Mayor Lito Atienza.
The MASCO has been successful in its sports development program, as seen by its athletes victories in the Batang Pinoy in Bacolod City and the Palarong Pambansa in Naga City recently.
