PSC concert on tomorrow

There are no competitions tomorrow evening at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig but the mood is expected to be feverish and patriotic when the country’s athletes are feted in the Alay Sa Gintong Medalya concert.

Eric Buhain, the former swimming sensation who now chairs the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), is looking at the concert as a vehicle to strike what matters most when an athlete goes into competition–the heart.

"Let’s give it to the athletes ," said Buhain. "They train hard, they work hard and they sacrifice a lot. Tomorrow evening, let’s show them that we are a hundred and one percent behind them."

Celebrities led by Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano and the versatile Vina Morales head the list of performers on concert night that begins at 8 p.m.
