20 teams vie in Pampanga Nike 3-on-3

-
Nike 3-on-3 takes Pampanga by storm on Saturday when the longest running and most prestigious high school basketball tournament is staged for the first time in the province at the SM City with 20 teams competing.

University of Assumption and New Era College lead the roster of teams vying for the provincial title and the outright slot to the National Finals, which will be held on Sept. 1 at the Alabang Town Center.

This early, the teams are thrilled with the prospect of winning not only fabulous Nike giveaways, but also Nike gift certificates worth a total of P150,000, plus an elegant trophy if ever one of them bags the National Championships.

"A lot of schools have expressed interest in joining the Nike 3-on-3, but unfortunately, we have to limit the participants to 20. The game’s format is really exciting, maybe next year we could already accommodate the rest which are not included this year," said Bernard Ocampo, Nike 3-on-3 area coordinator for Pampanga.

Officials of Nike Philippines will come in full force during the event, with marketing manager Colo Ventosa, sports marketing manager Auty Villarama and marketing coordinator Rely San Agustin welcoming all the participants.

Among the invited guests for the opening ceremony are Pampanga Vice Gov. Mikey Arroyo and Red Bull coach Yeng Guiao, who is also a member of the provincial board.

There will be raffle and several side events where the audience, especially those who will come in their Nike footwear or apparel, could win prizes.
