FVR team wins LPGA pro-am

NEW ROCHELLE, New York Former President Fidel V. Ramos scored another first for a Filipino when he teamed up with four others including worlds leading lady golfer Annika Sorenstam in capturing the Çelebrity Pro-am championship that preceded the Sybase LPGA Big Apple Classic.
Ramos, who is in New York to fulfill a series of roundtable discussions with potential investors in the Philipppines, took time off to play in the Big Apple Classic Celebrity Pro-Am upon invitation of the events main sponsor Sybase Chairman John Chen.
The celebrity pro-am team with Ramos in it included Chen, Samsung president Jay Lee, retired Sun Microsystems CEO Ed Zander and Sorenstam. The team scored a 14-under-par 57.
