Hotdogs seek first win versus Gins

-
Newly-crowned Governors Cup champion Purefoods goes up against archrival Ginebra today with the Hotdogs hoping to barge into the win column of the PBA Commissioners Cup at the Astrodome.

The Hotdogs, who ended a five-year title drought with the victory over Alaska Milk barely a month ago, lost their initial assignment against Sta. Lucia Realty, 75-90, last Friday.

Another loss would send Purefoods in the company of Shell, FedEx and San Miguel, three teams sharing the cellar on 0-2 records. Ginebra split its first two games.

The Gins first dropped a 69-81 decision to defending champion Red Bull during the opener before bouncing back with an 85-81 victory over the Asian Games-bound RP Selecta.

Silas Mills, a former Mobiline import, is once again expected to carry the load for Ginebra since his partner, former New York Knick Ben Davis, continues to grope for form.

After two games, Davis has failed to make a big impression in the league and will have another chance to do so against the Hotodgs, powered by returning import Kelvin Price and Gabe Munuoke.

Unbeaten so far after two outings are Red Bull, Coca-Cola and Talk N Text with Sta. Lucia Realty standing next to them with a 1-0 record.
