National University of Taipei leaned on a 10-0 run in overtime to turn the tables on University of Santo Tomas, 89-81, yesterday in the Spring Cooking Oil-third Asian University Basketball Championship at the Rizal Coliseum.
A barreling drive by Lee Chin Hsun and free throws from Au Yang Chin Hsun in the last two minutes made all the difference for the Taiwanese, who went on to notch their only win in three matches.
It came a day after St. Francis clobbered the Taiwanese quintet, 84-63, to keep up with Yonsei University of Korea for the lead.
Al Vergara banged in 22 points while Lyndon Abian fired 12 for the Doves, who have the same 3-0 win-loss card with the Koreans.
