Palawan to host WG&A Motocross

Motorbike mania hits Palawan on June 21 and 22 when the fourth leg of the WG&A Superferry National Motocross Series 2002 blasts off at the Sta. Monica Racetracks in Puerto Princesa.

The WG&A event, which is a project of the KIDS (Kabataang Iwas Droga sa tulong ng Sports) Foundation and organized by the Hartebeest Entertainment Corp., coincides with the celebration of the Baragatan Festival, the centennial celebration of Palawan.

Local support to the tourney is provided by Gov. Joel Reyes, Palawan Tourism Council, Hotel Fleuris, WG&A Philippines Puerto Princesa branch, and the Palawan Eagle, headed by Clink Hagedorn and Butch Chase.

"Puerto Princesa, Palawan is proud to be host to this grand motocross spectacle," said Gov. Reyes. "It is not everyday that we get to host a sports event of this magnitude and so we expect all of our constituents to flock to the Sta. Monica Racetracks to witness top-class motocross action from the country’s best riders."

KIDS chairman Richard Gomez will also grace the affair, along with other tinseltown celebrities, who will be competing like Victor Neri and Eric Fructuoso.

Also making the motocross series possible are WG&A Super Ferry, WG&A Freight, WG&A Zip, Bench, Nature’s Spring Drinking Water and No Fear.
