Princess Galura, country director of the International Management Group, organizer of the event, said the contest is open to all photographers covering the event. At stake are P7,000 for first, P5,000 for second and P4,000 for third.
Entries, which should be published with a minimum size of 3 col. x 10 cm and with the JVC logo on the background, must be submitted to img not later than June 30. The panel of judges will be composed of JVC Philippines officials.
The tournament is sponsored by JVC Philippines Inc. and staged by img, a global sports marketing company which specializes in sports management and marketing.
Main event of the JVC Open Badminton Champions is the Elite competition, open to elite players and which will be played in five categories – men’s and women’s singles and doubles and mixed doubles – with P10,000, P7,500 and P5,000 going to the top three individual champions and P15,000, P10,000 and P2,000 to the top three mixed pair winners.
The other events on tap are the youth (16 and under), veterans (35 and above) and corporate competitions.
The elimination round in all events will be held June 3-5 at the Rizal Memorial Badminton Hall, with the final round to be held June 6-9 at the Glorietta Activity Center, Ayala Center, Makati.
