FEU, Adamson cagebelles set title clash

Far Eastern University and Adamson whipped their respective rivals Sunday to arrange a showdown for the womens title in the eighth Fr. Martin Cup basketball tournament at the UE gym.
The Lady Tams outsteadied College of St. Benilde, 69-60, while the Adamson belles crushed University of Asia and Pacific, 70-35, to rule the elimination round with identical 5-1 records.
Defending champion FEU, reigning NCAA titlist San Sebastian and University of the Philippines also triumphed to clinch seminfinal slots in the mens division of the tourney supported by Pagcor.
The Tamaraws subdued St. Benilde, 75-67, to improve their Group B slate to 6-1 while the Stags beat National University, 76-66, for a frontrunning 5-0 card in Group C. The Maroons nipped Ateneo A, 70-68, to finalize their Group A record at 5-1.
