Ateneo, DLSU set golf duel

-
The competitive juices are starting to flow for the upcoming La Salle-Ateneo golf duel set May 28-30 at the north and south courses of the Canlubang Golf and Country Club in Laguna.

Going on its 15th year, La Salle will seek to retain possession of the Ambassador Valdes Cup – the symbolic trophy which goes to the winning school – they won for the eighth time last year.

Ateneo, which had won five editions and managed to draw once, will try to narrow down the gap of victories with an improved roster in the event sponsored by PLDT, Smart, Pepsi, Taylor Made Adidas and Union Bank Visa.

For this year’s competition, the playing field will be distributed over three days. Day and course assignments are as follows: May 28, ages 20-29 (south), ages 30-39 (north); May 29, ages 40-49 (south); ages 50-59 (north); May 30, ages 60 and above (north), 19 and below and ladies division (south).

Entry fee is P1,900 (inclusive of green free, awards dinners, raffle, giveaways and one mulligan per nine) for non-members and P900 for Canlubang members.

Eligible are players and alumni from any Christian brother or any Jesuit-run school who must have at least completed two years in that school. Awarding will be held at the National Sports Grill in Greenbelt on May 30 at 6 p.m.
