Jao fancied in 2nd leg

-
Following a successful kickoff stint, defending champion Jolet Jao of Shell-YRS Racing Team hopes to stamp his class anew as the 2002 Casino Filipino Grand Prix stages the second leg of the Shell Advance Superbike Series this weekend at the Batangas Racing Circuit in Barangay Maligaya, Rosario, Batangas.

Seeking a three-peat crown, the multi-titled Jao eyes another sweep to fortify his hold of solo lead.

Aboard his reliable Yamaha R6, Jao had a speed of 1:45.775 to control the tempo from the start in the centerpiece Expert Open class of this series organized by the National Motorcycle Sports and Safety Association (NAMSSA) and sanctioned by the Automotive Association of the Philippines (formerly PMA).

The kickoff win makes Jao the main target of his other rivals, especially British Rod Scott, Toti Alberto and last year’s Rookie of the Year Joey Reyes.
