Foundation spikers lead final qualifiers

After three days of action on the La Salle Greenhills sand court, eight out of 41 teams that participated in the Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao elimination rounds made it to national finals of the sixth Nestea Beach Volley University championship which will be held in Boracay from May 11-12.
Foundation University led the eight regional quarterfinalists with both its men and womens teams qualifying for the semi-finals.
Joining Foundation University in its quest for the championships are mens team of Pampanga Agricultural College, and De La Salle University-Dasmariñas and University of San Jose Recoletos Cebu. On the distaff side, battling it out are teams from Baguio Colleges Foundation, De La Salle University-Dasmariñas, South Western University and Foundation University.
Foundation Universitys mens team was the early favorite having won the division title last year. The team is composed of the two championship match teams. Kent Bulabon was part of the champion team while his current partner Isidro Bongcasan was part of the runner-up team.
Foundations womens team also saw action in the Boracay leg of the tournament last year. University of San Jose Recoletos Cebu mens team is also entering the semifinals as favorites having won all of its elimination games making it one of the only two teams to have done so in the competition, the other being Foundation Universitys mens duo.
