Displaying power and superb court savvy, Hernani Lualhati and Sherwin Meneses turned back San Beda Colleges Jason Amparo and Nemesio Gavino, 21-14, before demolishing New Era Universitys Gerald de Chavez and Zoriel Gaffud, 21-7, to complete a three-game sweep of Group D in the mens division.
Also staying unbeaten are Letran College, PATTS, Far Eastern University, University of the East and University of Sto. Tomas in the mens division and Mapua, Letran, St. Jude College, University of the East, Philippine Christian University, Adamson, Fatima College and National University in the womens side.
Action resumes April 5-6 with teams in Groups E, F, G and H continuing their bids for a spot in the national finals set May 11-12 in Boracay. A whopping P100,000 top prize is up for grabs in the finale.
Bankrolled by top beach volleyball patron Nestea Iced Tea, the event will also hold a Luzon elimination from April 13-14 and a qualifier for Visayas-Mindanao teams on April 17-18 before concluding with the Boracay National Finals.
