Adducul to suit up for Waves

- Joey Villar -
Pangasinan beat TPG Davao and Lhuillier Cebu to the draw on the Romel Aducul deal, sending the league’s MVP to the Waves when the fifth season of the MBA unfolds this summer.

"The MBA board and both LBC Batangas and Pangasinan have agreed on the Adducul deal," LBC Batangas team governor Dino Araneta told The STAR. " Romel will suit up this year for Pangasinan."

Araneta said Adducul’s departure could affect the Blades’ title-retention bid in the MBA’s season-opening conference set on April 8 since it will lose an intimidating force in the shaded area. "We would definitely miss him (Adducul) despite the fact that we have an almost intact line-up."

The LBC Batangas executive, however, said that he has acquired bulky 6’4" power forward Ariel De Castro, a rookie out of the National University Bulldogs in the UAAP, to fill the gap left by the 6’5" Adducul.

Adducul’s transfer to the Waves, who have returned after a year-long absence, marked the first time that he would play minus veteran Alex Compton.

Adducul and Compton have played side by side for the Manila Metrostars since the maiden season of the league.
