Jordan versus Bulls on NBN-4 tonight
January 20, 2002 | 12:00am
For the first time in almost four years, Michael Jordan returns to the United Center arena in Chicago, where fans have cheered wildly for him since 1986.
But for the first time, Jordan goes there as a member of the Washington Wizards, to battle the hometown Chicago Bulls, which he led to six NBA championships.
NBN-4 telecasts the game at 9:10 p.m. today.
Since Jordan "retired" from Chicago in 1998, the Bulls have become one of the worst teams in the league, with a pitiful 53-199 win-loss record. Meanwhile, he has given the once-woeful Wizards a dose of respectability. After losing 10 of their first 13 games, the Wizards won 15 of the next 20. They now have an 18-18 win-loss record, sixth in the Eastern Conference and just one win shy of their total wins last season (19-63).
Solar Entertainment will telecast the Wizards-Bulls game as part of a Sunday NBA doubleheader that also features the New York Knicks-Philadelphia 76ers game at 10 a.m. on the Solar cable channel, Skycable-24 or Homecable-17.
