Miñoza falters; Rosales sizzles

Frankie Miñoza faltered with a two over par 72 yesterday and slid from third to 12th place in the third round of the JGTO Nippon Series JT Cup at the Tokyo Yomiuri Country Club course in Tokyo.

The 41-year-old Miñoza, who started the round just four shots off the pace afer a second round 65, birdied No. 17 to salvage a 37-32 card as he fell farther behind by nine strokes heading into the final 18 holes of the $732,000 event.

Keiichiro Fukabori sustained his run of under par rounds as he shot a 67 and a 198 to post a three-stroke lead over Toshimitsu Izawa, who fired an eagle-aided 65 to be at 201.

Over in Hong Kong, Gerald Rosales birdied the first three holes and went on to fire two more against a bogey for a four-under 67 although he stood way behind the leader at 203 after three rounds of the Hong Kong Open.

Henrik Bjornstad of Norway shot a 69 for a 196 to seize a one-stroke lead over first round leader Adam Scott of Australia, who came up with a five-under par 66 to be at 197.
