University of Manila and Las Piñas College scored a second straight win against separate foes even as Holy Angel University made it to the win-column with a 71-66 decision over Arellano University in the second playdate of the National Athletic Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (NAASCU) basketball tournament at the UM gym Friday.
Holy Angel rode high on the endgame exploits of Mark Carreon and Jesus Roque as it beat Arellano in a close duel, two days after suffering a ghastly rout at the hands of Las Piñas College.
LPC made it two in a row with an 83-51 thrashing of AMA Computer University. UM kept pace with a 107-61 walloping of Technological University of the Philippines.
Rudolf Eilinger sizzled with 21 points while Oscar Tanseco and Jessie Macasa added 14 apiece as the UM Hawks made a big followup on their 106-54 demolition of AMA in the league inaugurals Wednesday.
The LPC Huskies were paced by John Paul Alcaraz, Dennis Daa and Mark Constantino with 15, 13 and 11 points, respectively.
The Hawks and the Huskies were all business, totally outclassing their TUP and AMA counterparts.
