RP anglers compete in World Cup

A four-man team from the Sports Fishing Federation of the Philippines (SFFP) will represent the country in the Fishing World Cup tournament slated Oct. 17-19 in Nagasaki, Japan.

Team Philippines, which has made waves in various international sports fishing competitions, will be contending in the prestigious World Cup for the first time.

The World Cup is organized by the Asia Sports Fishing Federation and the International Friendship Angler’s Association.

SFFP sec-gen Mark Rosales, who placed third among more than 50 entries in last year’s Asia Sea Angling tournament in Korea, will be leading the team to Japan. The other members are Jonathan Joson, Roberto Rodriguez and Edwin Tecson.
