Laput, Uy bag crowns in Chairman’s Cup golf

-
Former Philippine team junior player Jong Laput carded a net 40 under the Stableford System to win the Class A championship in the Chairman’s Cup held recently at the Forest Hills Golf and Country Club in Antipolo City.

Laput beat Antonio Olives (38) and Joey Ramoso (37) in the two-day event co-presented by Taylor Made Adidas and Golforce Inc. with Honda Cars Pasig, Globe Telecom, Pisanti Golf, The Turf Company and Fil-Estate Group of Companies as major sponsors.

The Class B division trophy went to Wilson Uy after finishing with 42 points. Antonio Floriendo and Rodolfo Garcia fired identical 40s but Floriendo took second place with a lower handicap.

"I would like to thank all the sponsors, players, as well as the club management and staff, for making the event memorable. Next year’s Chairman’s Cup will even be bigger and better," said Forest Hill chairman lawyer Ferdinand Santos during the awarding ceremony.

The other backers of the annual event were A.C. Santos Trucking, AST Security Corp., Bank of Commerce, Bramante Dayspring Water, CAP Health, Emeritus Security and Maintenance Systems Inc., Enviro Gardens and Builders Inc., Foodlink Resources and Management Inc., Fortune Tobacco Corp. Hizon Laboratory, Manila Southwoods Manor, Pacsports Phils. Inc., Primal Enterprises Corp., and Primepower Manpower Services.
